She was of course talking about my old column Silence on Saturday.
"I miss it too," I said rather wistfully.
Memories of those words that captured moments in time, my time, flooded through my mind.
It took her ten minutes, but she ended up convincing me that I should get back to the SOS gig.
So Silence on Saturday is back. It is some two years later. I have changed in so many ways, not sure the better or wiser, but changed all the same.
Have you ever felt like you are coming home, like finally everything is falling neatly into place? That is how I feel as I write this post.
It is the joy you feel when a loved one welcomes you back with a hearty hug and heart-tugging smile.
And it does take me back to Zimbabwe and all those priceless things - the lost pleasures - I so terribly miss.
But that is a post for another day.
